Campaign ‘Break the Silence’: ‘Invite a la redaction’ (English) 1

December 3rd, 2007 · No Comments

L’invité de la rédaction’ is an addition to regular programming on Contact FM (CFM) 89.7 which gives listeners the chance to hear 4-5 minute interviews intended to deepen their understanding of the issues explored in regular programming. A week before the launch of the “Break the Silence” campaign – which explores the issues of sexual violence in the DRC – ‘l’invite de la redaction’ will host individuals working on the ground in the DRC addressing sexual violence. It will also include an interview with Albert Rudatsimburwa, station manager at CFM, who will discuss the importance of the ‘Break the Silence’ initiative. These interviews will explore the different angles of the situation of women in the DRC and will raise important questions about how violence against women is being used in the ongoing conflict.

Dr. Yakin Erturk, Special Rapporteur on Violence Against Women and UN Research Institute for Social Development Researcher
